FC Barcelona to Host First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition two and a half years following their departure so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans can be present as per the current authorization. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
Barça organized a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
