Palestinian-American Adolescent Freed After 270 Days in Israeli Detention

A American-Palestinian teenager who spent 270 days in Israeli detention without charge has been freed.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 at the time of his arrest last February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing while residing in Florida under suspicion of rock throwing toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

American diplomatic officials said it welcomed the teenager's freedom.

Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital right after being freed, family members reported.

Family described him as pale, underweight, and experiencing medical problems acquired while detained.

Through an official statement, family spokesperson expressed the family's "immense relief".

The uncle, Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Right now, we are focused on getting Mohammed the immediate medical attention necessary for his recovery after being subjected to harsh conditions and inhumane conditions throughout his detention."

The state department announced ongoing to extend consular services to Mohammed's family.

The father, a father-of-four who runs an ice cream business based in Tampa, previously said Mohammed acknowledged allegations regarding stone throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

There were no visits or communicated with his son since the arrest, and only heard what had happened to him through judicial records.

He stayed absent formal charges in Ofer prison throughout the occupied territory.
