The Initial Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Is Still Fighting.

Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the death bells for the Xbox brand. Xbox was recently outsold by a platform few have heard of. Dedicated Xbox communities have started writing regarding Sony's platform for the first time. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for the tech giant's gaming arm. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Xbox remains determined to draw people in with strong games on its premier subscription.

The Immediate Additions

The two games currently accessible today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's truly noteworthy.

Upcoming Headline Games

On Jan. 13, the subscription service will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that refreshes conventional open-world tropes with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of terror and combat."

Compelling Indie Titles

However, the more modest titles coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, drops on Jan. 7th — and it merits a playthrough even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. It offers a healthy blend of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that lacked the recognition they deserved the first time around — which makes them perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.

You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
