Tributes Continue for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.
More than two weeks after the tragic deaths of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community persist in remembering the duo.
‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director
Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt able to post publicly about his deep grief.
"Enough time has elapsed that I can at last articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started spending more time together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, commenting that he doesn't recollect "a single day without mirth".
"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes continued.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."
Martin Scorsese Remembers a Friend and Collaborator
In a separate piece, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.
"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.
Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted
In a new development, a Los Angeles court official decided to block the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.
A court order issued a security hold on the files to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" connected to the ongoing investigation.
The relevant authority had already determined their deaths were the result of murder, with a public database noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
