Two men have been charged following a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.

A young child was caught up in the incident in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
